  4. James Horner’s score for the John Grisham legal thriller The Pelican Brief is an average suspense score from the composer. Parts of the score are beautifully evocative and appropriately dramatic with some tense suspense moments with effective clipped horn bursts and snare rhythms that I dig (“Garage Chase” a highlight).

  7. 3 reasons why you should get Pelican Brief by James Horner: 1. The Main Title **** 2. Darby's Theme ***** 3. Airport Goodbye ***** These cues are excellent and some of Horner's best. Darby's theme which is reprised in Airport Goodbye is majestic and beautiful. The Main title is subdued but has a hauntingly noble quality about it.
  8. Im currently running (for the third time this year) a screening of Romeo and Julliet in NYC. Its really cool (albeit weird) to hear James Horner reuse musical passages from Apollo 13, The Pelican Brief and Sneakers in this remake. Some people will not approve, but i really love the 90's sound. In case you asked, it wasn't a temp score.
